Pictures from Rod Peterson:
#1, 3, 4 Dave Smith drags Donna Skaggs down the slippery slope. When Tom Skaggs was shown these pictures, he was less concerned about Dave's arms around Donna than he was about getting a lock for his lathe.
#2 Al Crandall's slick (literally) turning apron made by his wife. Ask him about the duct tape (not in view in this picture).
#5 Keith Zimmerman (seated) and Dan Barber watch Stubby operations while host Ray Thompson guards the door in case someone found his stash o' wood.
#6 Dave Peebles works a bowl.
#7 Ken Salisbury (right) holding up the bench. Tall guy is Simon St. Laurent next to Joy Barber who is next to Jennifer Shirley. Dennis Peacock is at the back.
#8 Dan Barber checking for beer, Chuck McKinley, Terry Hatfield behind him, Gary Hern on the right guarding his lathe.
#9 Closeup of Terry Quiram's scroll saw work.
#10 Gary Hern's Stubby lathe. Any one of the several parts could hurt you.
#11 Bill Grumbine lets the chips fall where they may. Bill would periodically
select various audience members as
repositories for wet shavings.
#12 Terry Quiram at the scroll saw. That appears to be the PM66 of scrollsaws.
#13 Al Crandall supervises Bill Grumbine on the chain saw.
#14 Bill Grumbine gives Ray's Jet 1236 a workout.
#15 Closeup of Ray's Woodmaster.
#16 Interior of left half of barn. Three Jet Mini lathes are in view; five were there before the end, plus two more lathes in the other half of the barn.
#17 Interior of right half of barn.
#18, 19 A prize stash of beautifully figured wood. Early discoverers suggested to Ray that he hide them while the light fingered Ponders were around.
#20 Bill Grumbine - chain sawyer.
#21, 22, 23, 24 General pictures of the grounds w/ some folks. This would have been a nice crowd for Saturday...but these were taken on Friday evening.
#25, 26, 27 These pictures (left barn, right barn, and picnic area) were taken within seconds of each other on Saturday, demonstrating the large crowd in attendance.
#28 Al Crandall turning a walnut plate. He sanded it with Sorby's articulated inertia sander, which cost me $40 at Rocklers the next day on my way to the airport. Thanks, Al.
#29 This is most of the crowd, all wishing Bill Grumbine would hurry up so they could eat.
#30 Gary Hern giving his Stubby a workout...(should I rephrase that?)
